Cannot start my Rendezvous

Hello everyone,

My 2004 Rendezvous' check engine light came on and I thought that if turned the ignition key a few times to the on position without starting, it may clear the fault, or give me an error code (Big Mistake) A chiming noise came from the dash and then everything went dead. I disconnected the battery hoping this would fix the problem. The lights worked again and so I put the key in the ignition and all the proper lights on the instrument panel
came on. Turned the key to start and everything went dead again. What have I done ??? Desperatley need advice.

Re: Cannot start my Rendezvous

Are you sure you have the battery cable ends tight to the battery?

Re: Cannot start my Rendezvous

Hi again,
Thanks everyone who replied.
Yep ... turned out the cause of all my grief was the battery cable having not been tight enough.
It was on good, but l could tighten it more using a small wrench.
Thanks again.
