Redline vs. 18G WRX...then muffler BOOM! pics inside

Friday night I met up with some friends and one has been wanting to race me since he put an 18G turbo on his WRX. Well he had four people in the car and said he would still walk me so I decided why not give it a shot. We went out on the interstate followed by friends in 7 other cars and went from a 40 the first time. Both in 2nd he brake boosted and honked it off. I lost traction just a bit but hooked and pulled on him. Continued through 3rd and grabbed 4th at around 110 and pulled it out to about 120 with me 3 cars ahead, I was pretty surprised even with the weight he had. Second race he chose 55 mph in third, and I stayed in 2nd. Honked it down and again started pulling. I was about a car and a half ahead at 110 when I no lift shifted to 4th and BOOM! I let off thinking I blew out my cutout block off plate, then a friend called me and said he heard an explosion from a half mile back and saw a flame the size of the back of my car We pulled over and my muffler was peeled like an orange!

Here is the aftermath

I wish someone would have taped it! We were gonna run again the next night without passengers but it was raining so we couldnt.

How did you manage that?!

Sounds like a good race though. At least you can put down power in your car. My clutch now slips horribly when I get into mid range boost.

Ordering either a RPS Stg 2 race or a SPEC stg 2 in the next couple of days though.
