AMX for Car Club

Here's another old one. I always liked the trees. It's an AMX 390 I did for a local car club.

I did a little research and found out there was 64 car clubs in my hometown. For all you artist out there looking for a good source of work and or practice contact some of your local car dealers and see what clubs are in your town. I found some here, went to one of thier meetings showed some pictures and got to do stuff.

It works!!! really!!

Re: AMX for Car Club

Very cool!

I did some work for a dude named Tom Busch. he had a 390 that made about 600hp. He called it the Alcoholic. He showed it for about a year while they were building our new drag strip out here. We did about 300 shirts (I'll find the artwork and post it sometime).

In any case opening weekend on his first run ever he didn't get his rubber warm enough and hit a cold spot or something on the track. He made a hairpin right at 160mph into the brand new concrete wall!! Tore his car up almost lost his hand and then had 300 shirts to unload with no car.

That's my AMX story.

On a side note Tom also has a really cool Matador.

Re: AMX for Car Club

ahhh good one lostprophets...

The incident did make him a local legend though. It's funny because whenever you talk to anyone who goes out to the drags they claim they were there, and the story has taken on epic proportions. I gave you the straight dope though.

Re: AMX for Car Club

I don't know for sure KustmAce.

I see them around town though from time to time. Most look at shirts as an investment and if they have a business they can write off the cost as something and get the $$ back from Uncle Sam, or at least part of it. I got paid so I was pretty happy. My kids got peanut butter AND jelly that week.

Re: AMX for Car Club

No no asaenz...You da man.

I did separations for this piece but the printer never did the shirts. He ended up having some tough times and had to deliver pizzas for a while. I'm glad I'm not on that side of the squeegee anymore.

After this weekend I'll start throwing more color up here. I've been inspired by all the fantastic work I see around here.
