Fixing your light on the HVAC controler
So where is the A/c or the rear defrost button?
![]() Gotta turn on the lights to find them? ![]() The first step is to remove the controls and take out the back four screws. Don't forget to remove the knobs...it won't come apart if you don't. ![]() Remove the the two screw holding the circuit board to the panel front ![]() ![]() Find the light that are not working...The four on the upper board on the left. Next you must flip the board over and use a soldering iron to remove the burnt out lights and solder in new ones. ![]() ![]() New on the left and old lights ![]() Make sure you test the controller before putting the dash back together...you might have to re-solder some of the lights as I did. ![]() ![]() There, now I can find them ![]() ![]() BTW, There is a chevy and Olds controller in the pictures. Olds on the top. ![]() ![]() When I went to first tackle this job, I couldn't get the controller apart because I didn't pull the knobs off the front. So I got a second controller for $10, but all the same lights were burnt out. So, I figured I could break one. And then I figured out the magic of knob removal! Cheers!
