1998 buick lesabre bleed brakes?
hi my proportion valve started leaking so i decided to change it well line broke (rust) so i changed a piece of line problem is i lost brake fluid i think i still had a bit in reservoir. i put some fluid back, question is do i have to bleed all 4 wheels or just the one i worked on also i noticed oil around oil pan bolts it looks like oil pan gasket is the oil pan gasket hard to change on 1998 buick lesabre 3.8 and are the front and back oil seals on these motors generly good hard to tell exactly where oil is seeping from small drip on driveway.

Re: 1998 buick lesabre bleed brakes?
I would bleed the whole system, hopefully you did not empty the abs in the process, this would require the use of a scanner to properly bleed the system. I would clean up around the oil leak and try to pinpoint the source before attempting any fix.

Re: 1998 buick lesabre bleed brakes?
thanx for answering. i bled the 2 rear (drums) and the pedal has come back to being pretty firm i will do the front also is there a method to stop line leaking that will give yuo time to put flair fitting on old line. by the time i finished putting flair on the old line the leaking of fluid stopped i did not know about the draining of abs how would you know if air did get in abs. curious for next time. the oil issue is that it is not bad enough to see exactly where it is i cant see if the rear seal is leaking the trans. is in front i mean it is hard to be 100% sure i will look again. if the rear seal is leaking i am not going to spend any more money i think that would be an expensive job but if its oil pan gasket i think that can be done without removing any other part? at least thats what it looks like from under car? has anybody done oil pan gasket any advise would be appreciatted.

Cap the brake line with a piece of rubber tubing with a bolt in the end to stop any fluid leaking, autozone.com, repair guides has the oil pan info.
