85 IROC TPI Distributor
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me weather the distributor to my 85 IROC needs to be put in a certain way? It's going to be a bit weird to try to ask this so bear with me.. OK, there are the 8 posts on the cap... and there is a tab between 2 of the posts... is there a certain post that the first cylinder plug wire needs to go to (assume that you are looking straight above the cap with the tab pointing up at 12 o'clock)? The person I bought my car from had installed a new engine in the car and I just want to make sure that the distributor is in correctly. I assume that it shouldn't make any diff. what plug goes on what post as long as the firing order is correct but seeing as it is electronically controlled I am not positive on that. Thanks for any help you can give me .

Re: 85 IROC TPI Distributor
as long as the firing order is correct and the wires can plug in and you can adjust it to get the proper timing then all is good
