Question 1985 Chevy S10 Blazer 4x4 2.8L V6 - Found an electrical box under dash?

I was looking behind the dash, under the glove box, on my Blazer, and I found a metal box that had slots for electrical connecters to fit. The connecters were unplugged, so I plugged them back in. Does anyone have any clue what this box may be?

What sise box
How many wires or plug in on it ?
Any part no on box?
What color box?
A PICTURE MIGHT HELP.

Was everything working and running right with it unpluged?
Did any thing change when you pluged it uP?
