1967 Porsche 911R

Here is my new project, a Porsche 911R '67 from Fujimi 'Enthusiast serie'. As I could not decide which project to start, I wrote the name of all my models on small papers, threw them all in a bag, and my daughter picked one up. Result: 911R '67

Generally happy with the result, an easy kit, which can be detailed with a few things

I already have lots of reference pics so here is a quick overview of what you can expect to see.

The engine, which is time consuming. Painted, black wash, drybrush on some details but the most interesting part, the belt. I used the pulleys from the stock part, reworked them, sanded them, and finally did the belt with black tape. On these pics, all the wires and hoses must be set.

Now with wires, spark plugs,...

I've started to work on the chassis, created the shocks support on the front and added PE bolts (saw this in another thread, sorry if I copied the idea), also filled the floor with plasticard to have a flat base for the flocking.

I changed the kit's handles by copper wires and added resin bolts for the rear shocks. I'm currently creating the rear fire-wall to add some mechanical elements.

I also created the engine silent-blocs with plasticard and PE bolts.

That was my thread. I forgive you!

Your work looks great so far. The engine in particular looks excellent.

I'm staying tuned. Great job on the engine. What color do you have in mind?

Xavier,

I really enjoy your progress, it's been too long since your last model I have seen built!

Good thing you decided to go with this classic beautiful car, I love it and am very impressed by the progress!

Good luck,

Olivier

Re: 1967 Porsche 911R

Some progress..

I continued on the rear fire-wall by adding plastic strips, like this it's very close to the embossed aspect of the steel sheet. Once painted, weathered and all the accessories added, it won't be very visible.

I also sanded each plastic pin supposed to simulate the wheel bolts and replaced them with PE bolts.

I broke this part while sanding it, so had to redo it.

The whole chassis is painted black and is ready for weathering.

I drilled the dash to insert the gauge decals from behind, and easily add a chromed surround with a thin strap of PE sprue

Re: 1967 Porsche 911R

Update:

Chassis painted and drybrushed, engine mounted. Wheels are also painted and instaled.

A few elements created as the ignitor and the gas connections, I still have the pipes to install on the carbs.

Next step: the exhaust.
