Finally after 3 years - Project time!

So, 3 long years it has been but I finally dont have - extra bills, unemployment, unexpected bills.

I stumbled upon a built engine:
6 Bolt
Stock block bored .020 over, tumbled and deck resurfaced.
Weissco 8.3/1 Forged pistons
Floated 1G big rods, c clip wrist pins(non press in)
Brand new OEM crank from mitsubishi
Felpro headgasket
Arp headstuds(torqued to 120ftlbs)
Moderately ported head(stage 3)
HKS 264/272 Cam combo
Sheet metal intake manifold
Brand new oil pan straight from mistu.
ACL Race bearings

And now within the next 5 months at most **hopefully** my car will be running again.

Im looking to hit about 450 WHP with a 50 or 57 trim turbo, depending on what I can find used...If I buy new Ill be getting the 57 trim most likely from Bullseye.

Ill update when I can and Ill try to remember to do a couple DIY walk throughs with pics. Mainly headliner, air dam, putting in an engine.
Possibly clutch, big brake upgrade from a gsx, how to install a boost controller...not sure with these yet...depends on how busy I am with school.

I know a few of these have been done before but I would like to contribute something a bit more clear and easier to follow for anyone.

Re: Finally after 3 years - Project time!

Today I was down and cleaned out a lot of the junk in the car and organized parts that were inside.

Pulled out the passenger seat, back seat, middle console and then got fucked pulling out the drivers seat...power seat with no power + pulled all the way forward = little space to work with. By the time I found a wrench I had to take off to go to class an hour away....I did find 55 cents though.

Dropped off my tranny at my mechanic to replace all gaskets/seals and look over everything to make sure I have no problems when its ready to go.

Going back Saturday early morning to get the headliner down along with that damn front seat and the ECU to ship off for DSMLink.

I'm pretty sure I had this same quote from my build 3 years ago. lol...

Good luck with it. Hopefully it really does take no more than 5 months for yours.

Re: Finally after 3 years - Project time!

Yea, if everything goes according to plan I should be ok.

On another note...fuck wheel studs.

Had 2 break off today on my DD, I was going to change the breaks in Sarasota where my Eclipse is and there it shall stay until tomorrow.

On the positive side, headliner is out and peeled off, going to pick out new tomorrow along with cleaning out the interior really well.

Funny story about cutting this bumper up...read below.

Unnecessary junk

Still have to trim some bumper cover

So, about this bumper lol...I ended up breaking a dremel trying to finish cutting the inside so my buddy and I had to use a flat head and a hammer until another friend came with a jigsaw.
NEVER try to use a jack to pry it open. We had the jack inside the bumper and it ended up shooting out hitting the ceiling then landing on some towels on the car. Ive never seen something so heavy fly that fast lol.

Re: Finally after 3 years - Project time!

It was ran up and down the street once. I need to replace the seal where the tranny connects...the metal housing is cracked barely so its leaking oil a bit.

Re: Finally after 3 years - Project time!

Adjustable wastegate rod, compressor housing has that raised square part and doesn't have a serial number cast into the housing. Its deffinately a knock off. Did the guy sell it as a MHI unit?

Here is a bastard 20g from slowboyracing.
