Light bulbs in HVAC - Heater control head
2000 LeSabre, Confirmed, to change the burned out light bulbs in the control head you have to de-solder the bulb from the control head. 1st take out the 4 screws holding the part together, open the case with the front face either down or on its side, things did not fall out when I opened this way. I got the de-solder iron at Radio shack 10.50 $. The bulbs? I got the number from another posting. there are 2 different size bulbs in that head. I used the smaller one in the larger place (larger ones light up the temp and speed), and I notice a slight less brightness, not bad but noticable. I wish I would have looked for other bulbs in the store. Anyways it worked. Also there is a good chance you will loose some of the metal clips that hold the 4 foot long facia that covers the HVAC head. I went to the dealer and purchased more after I lost them, 9 dollars for a dozen. They are made from spring steel and really fly when they snap.

Re: Light bulbs in HVAC - Heater control head
Thanks for the info.
I wanted to do this to mine, but got a unit at U-Pull for $5. Still have the old one, so I may try this. Chris.
