'56 Chevy 'Bel-Air' Custom
This a basic Revell re-issue. I've decided to remove the chrome trim to make it similar to the 55 Chevy in '2 lane Blacktop'. I've painted it grey primer, but don't know whether to keep it like that and add some drag race type decals or whether to give it a smart gloss colour coat. What do you think? I have lowered the stance and am planning on using these rims (but probably not keeping them gold).

No wonder you never get any finished with so many on the go at one time! I would definitely paint the wheels silver and do a top coat on the body! Looks nice so far and I like the fact that you have removed all the trim.

Re: '56 Chevy 'Bel-Air' Custom
did your model have lots of mold lines?
mine does took me so much time to sand and prime to have them removed |

Re: '56 Chevy 'Bel-Air' Custom
Yes, lots of sanding was needed to get it smooth, but as I was removing the chrome side mouldings anyway it didn't make much difference. I had to do a lot of re-scribing of shut lines too, but mainly due to the removal of the side mouldings. I think the basic shape is good. I think it will make a change being different with one colour instead of the more usual 2 tone divided by the chrome stripe. What look are you going for with yours? Are you using one of the bonnet scoops? I'm not, I used the more aerodynamic scoop on my 66 Chevelle custom (see my other WIP).
