VW T3 Transporter Rusty Van

This is a Revell VW T3 Transporter. People who followed my W.I.P. knows I wanted a clean look van, but after clearcoating the body, the decals started to silvering. I didn't liked it anymore, so I made a rusty van of it. It was my first attempt using real rust, and I think I did a good job on it

Yesterday I finished the car. I added some other decals on the rearwindow and made a aluminium exhaust tip.

This time I don't had to polish the body before taking the photos

First some outdoor pics:

And some indoor shots:

I really love the result of it. The kit is very good, but there is not much detail. At least it got an engine The fitment is also very good but the hinges for the thrunkdoor are rubbish. I glued mine to the body so it can't open anymore. The sidedoor is openable though.

First I wanted a clean german look for this car. After some silvering on the decals I didn't liked the car anymore, so I had to find a solution for it. Instead of starting again I made a rusty bus of it. I think it's well done now, and the rust is amazing in my opinion. I never new it looked so good before I bought this stuff.

Here's a short list with some accesoires I used:

- aluminium exhaust tip
- various decals
- Porsche 911 Turbo Fuchs wheels
- interiorjunk parts and tools
- Scale Production antracit interiorflocking
- Modern Options Instant Rust

I hope you like it as I do

Kris.

Wow... Impressive result !
Rust has a really convincing look
You needed to have a big healthy heart to voluntary ruined the body !
I would have had a heart attack at the first flaw or cut if it had been mine !!

Yes it was very hard to make dents and rust on it, because it was sanded and polished before i did So after all it was sweating and work for nothing

I think the rust is also great on this car. It's a big eye catcher in my display case because all my other models are show and shine models
