Re: 1994 Mustang GT 5.0 Only Runs at Idle Help Please
my first thought is at the intake. check and make sure that all of the plumbing is sealed and tight, too much air being pulled in after idle RMPs confuses the computer. after that i would need more information, have you done anything to it lately? any reason for it to be running on six cylinders like the plug wires wrong? if it runs normally at idle, 98% of the time it is the computer if it is the information it is receiving or the processor itself we'd have to hear more to diagnose.

sounds like it's not getting enough air, or not enough fuel. like BigDan said, a sensor could be throwing off the computer. maybe the MAF or something?

Low fuel pressure, exhaust blockage, plugged up injectors, intake blockage, plugged fuel filter, or ignition related problem.
If you want to know if it's a sensor like MAF, just unplug it and see if it runs like normal. The computer will compensate for the missing signal with it's own limp home signal. |

Pull the wire connector to the MAF. It will go to rich mixture by default. If it is starving for fuel try this to find out if it is. If it runs OK with the MAF disconnected start looking for vacuum leak.
