Question Questions about resin kits.

Hi folks,

I was wondering if anyone on here makes many resin kits, particularly the little 1/43 fellas.

Reason I'm asking is that I have a small collection of 1/43 diecasts back home in the UK, mostly Ebbro Supras and am thinking of trying some Provence Moulage stuff and maybe the Studio27 1/24 Supras (yes I know they're bloody expensive but Tamiya never updated their JGTC cars).

Can anybody offer any advice or just let me know if the kits are any good before I go buying any.

Any info, absolutely anything, will be helpful as I,ve never done resin or small before.
Thanks guys

Richie.

Try not to sand the resin too hard as hard and sharp edged parts will snap as they are very brittle. Detailing is a challange because of its size but it is very fun doing these little kits although they are expensive. Here's a BBR Ferrari F-50 GT kit that i'm currently building.

Try something is much less parts kit before going into more parts. As for ST27 Supra...the kits come with lots of parts, and 2 version to chose, not a easy kit to build and you have to download some real photos before you begain. I think if you want to go to ST27, try McLaren F1 GTR, cause it contain less parts but still look good. (I got 6 ST27 Supra and 1 McLaren F1GTR) trying to get one more McLaren F1GTR soon....

1/43 scale: Provence Moulage, ABC, or starter kit will be a good start.
1/24: Le Mans Miniature....

Thanks for the info and tips guys.

RTuned, can you tell me, do the ST27 kits, McLarren and Supra come pretty much complete or is some scratchbuilding required, for roll cages, interiors etc or are any 'gradeup' parts needed for real authenticity?

Thanks again

Richie

Don't worry, that McLaren and Supra is full kit, you don't have to modify anything and you got yourself a extra GT wing(Supra only). Because the kit give your option, low down force and high down force Wing, as for McLaren, get the British flag, is damn nice.

Sure and no sweat. IMO, get the Zent or Denso Supra will be most reward.

ST27 will be releasing the F40LM soon. BBR coming out Enzo Ferrari in 1/12 scale and 1/43 360 Modena GT 'Wedding' that run in JGTC too. I also going to broke.... and my ST27 shipment came in too.

Having built a couple of different manufacturers resin kits, so far I have to say that the Studio 27 Dodge Viper was the best one to date for quality, although there was not that much detail. The kit that I have just started (see new thread), Le Mans Miniatures Bentley EXP Speed 8 looks equally as good, if not better.
