'98-'01 Audi A4 - buy or run?
I'm thinking about picking up a '98-'01 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro, is this going to be a money pit or something worthwhile? I want AWD, and the Audi is coming in at around $5-6K, the only other car in the price/age range that looks fun is a Subaru Legacy 2.5GT. I would like something fairly reliable, and I still see a lot of these Audi's on the road, but I don't want to buy pension fund for my local mechanic. Any advice? Corrosion/rust is an issue, I live in Canada!
Thanks. |

Audi's are fairly reliable, but very expensive IF something breaks.

Audi's are reliable but keep in mind the Quattro is AWD . The system is great for traction in inclement weather but can be expensive to maintain . It also gives better control in all weather conditions . So , living in Canada , it would be a plus !

I agree 100% , especially in that price range, the pension fund wins by a mile

Re: '98-'01 Audi A4 - buy or run?
Do your research on the car you buy, Audi's are good cars just make sure your buying a reliable car. If the car your looking has mechanical issues or rust, forget about it because there are more Audi a4 for sale you just gotta find them. I also recommend you look for a car you can inspect in person or have a mechanic look at.
