Re: 94 transport speakers

No idea on wattage... The front speakers are 4x6 and were 8-10 Ohms

The rear speakers are 6-6.5" and were 4-8 Ohms I believe..

The rear hatch should be like mine having the holes for the 6x9's already there.. I cut the cover on the rear deck for the 6x9 speakers and wired them in with the 6.5" speakers...

So I have the 6x9's( 3 way ) and 6.5"'s( 2 way ) in the back along with the 4x6( 3 way ) in the dash..

Re: 94 transport speakers

Well, I was also wondering if it would be possible to place the speakers on the font doors. Like the cars today, but where?

And with the stock speakers in the rear, did it shake the plastic interior? It does in mine.

Re: 94 transport speakers

I have insulation material on the rear hatch for that purpose... But the 6x9's can shake the deck depending on what I am listening to.. The stock % band Eq Delco HU does a good job..

I am considering Infinity or the like 6x9's and 6.5" speakers for the rear.. I like my music..

Re: 94 transport speakers

I like my music as well. what do you mean? The stock delco with the equalizer s;iders? I have that. But I love bass so much. Therefore, the bass is at it's highest all the time, so the back rattles. Where do I get this insulation and how do I get the plastic off the hatch?

Re: 94 transport speakers

The insulation is a close Cell foam insulation.. R10 value I believe... I have a friend in the building industry... He keeps the pieces that are trashed as they are usually decent sized... Over the last few years this is what we use in our cars when we have the carpet out... I have even cut the stuff to fit behind the door panels... Can't get the stuff at Lowes or Home Depot...

The rear deck cover is held on but a handfull of Philips screws and 2 Torx screws at the handle.. Once those are out the cover will come off, if it doesn't try to fall off..

Only bad thing about having the 6x9 in the rear is that the stock cut outs are soo low on the hatch that when you cut the openings for the speakers in the plastic and install the covers they will get dented up if you use the van like I do.. I am considering Dynamat for the hatch to help reduce vibrations..

I couldn't imagine what an AMP would do..

Re: 94 transport speakers

I ust checked and some of the screw holes are cracked. So the door is only half-held on. After I find some insulation, what should I do to replace these cracked holes?

I cleaned up the panel and roughed up the areas that were cracked and used JB Weld on them.. But I am on the look out for a better panel... If I find one I am coming home with it.. Mine isn't in the greatest shape either...lol

Well, I guess that's why it is called the plastic van. And why it got such a quick 0-60 rating.....lol Some things are unavoidable
