05' Passat 2.5L inline 5 running rough HELP!
Hello everyone i been having a major issue with this car for awhile now. I have a 2005 Passat 2.5L inline 5 and it is running rough. Before it seems like cylinder #5 didnt have any compression so here is what i did so far to try and fix the problem. First:
1. Took off the heads, did a valve job on the bad valves and replace them. after we did that the car still ran the some so we did this next. 2. Took out the motor and cyclnder #5 the rings was too close to each other so we repaired the and installed new rings on the bad piston. Put everything back together and the car still idling rough. we checked the injectors with the test light, swapped out the coils and still the same. The engine is getting enough gas so that is ok. MAF seems to be ok. So now the car still running rough and idling rough. So what do you guys think? We scanned it and it showed a code 17595. So basically we did a valve job and also repaired the bad piston ring and the car still idling rough anyone have any idea?? please help!

Re: 05' Passat 2.5L inline 5 running rough HELP!
BTW: I just scanned the car again and now the only code that is showing up is cylinder #5 misfiring. We already did a valve job on that cylinder #5 and also changed out the rings on piston #5. Still iding rough but it starts up fine. Any ideas i cant figure anything else out yet.

Re: 05' Passat 2.5L inline 5 running rough HELP!
Do you know where the ecu i located? We double checked the car and tried to swap a coil from another car vw and once we installed it the coil went bad. When we went back to put the coil back into its original car the coil was shot. So we had to go buy another coil for it. So the car has a short somewhere that burnted out the tester coil. Any ideas?

Re: 05' Passat 2.5L inline 5 running rough HELP!
I have had some 05 models that the #5 driver in the ecm fails for the coil on the jettas with the 2.5 and causes a misfires but I have never seen a 2.5 passat so cant say its the same for those
