I have a 1990 silverado 2500 pick-up with 160,000 miles on it. Since I bought it about 5 years ago it's always 'studdered' when taking off from a red light. When up to speed it does not give me any promblems, and the RPM's never get to the point where Im waiting for the tran's to shift. In the past 5 years I've put about 30,000miles on it and along the way I've given it a tune up, replaced the fuel filter, exhaust, among other things, but none of them helped the studdering. What might this be?

Also it seems at times it will stall if I don't back off the gas

Re: Studdering from a stop
Sometimes an after market EGR valve will cause this if the wrong washers were installed. This allows to much flow.
