97 chevy fuel system max hp?

I am wanting to build up a motor for my 97 chevy 1500. I was wondering if anyone new how much hp the stock fuel system will handle? I would like to build a motor with about 400hp will it handle that?

Would depend a lot on what kind of fuel system you install on the rebuilt engine.

Your stock fuel pump is rated to run at 60/65 lbs of pressure.
But high volumn out put may be limited to standard injection needs on volumn.

If you are going to feed it other fuel than reg gas you will need high pressure pump and other stuff.
