'02 Spuddered...stalled...lights flashing...?
On my way to work this morning by '02 LeSabre started to puke out and then stalled. It would start and then stalled again. The service engine light was flashing indicating a misfire, and then it would start but stalled again. I let the car sit and then it started and I made it 25 miles to work with no problems.
I'm stumped...fuel filter ?? ![]() Rob |

Re: '02 Spuddered...stalled...lights flashing...?
There is no easy answer here. many things can cause this, without a defintive code to point to a specific problem, I would say you could replace the filter but the symptoms don't match, was any work done recently?

Re: '02 Spuddered...stalled...lights flashing...?
No work was done recently. I understand the difficulty diagnosing the problem without a code. This has happened twice before, now that I think about it. Also, a few months back, my wife told me the car wouldn't start at all. I let it sit for 2 days and it started and ran like nothing ever happened. Secondly, I believe this may be related...I have an odor of gas around the gas(cap) intake hose. I can't see exactly where or if it is directly leaking. I just have an odor. Gas mileage hasn't been affected either. I'm going to take a more thorough inspection tonight when I get out of work while I'm changing the filter. Incidently, where is the filter located?? Thanks for the response.
