I've read many threads on this. Just have a few questions. The code i get is the PO442 (small leak). Is there a "hose diagram on this model so I can see what hoses to check"? Also, is there a spray i can use to see if and wear it is leaking? I only saw 3 or 4 small gray hoses(is that right or are there more?). For the hell of it i replaced the gas cap. How do you reset the SES light? Is there LIST of things to check on this Error? Is this list posted or is it just basically the hoses?
Thanks for your help, |

Re: Small Leak PO442 Grand am 2000
Not realy much other then visual checks for this. Unless you have a smoke machine for testing EVAP systems.
Their are several hoses in back, close to the tank, which can leak. I'd check the hose clamps and make sure nothings come unplugged. Is the PO442 the only trouble code you got when it was scanned ?

Re: Small Leak PO442 Grand am 2000
i just fixed my kids grand am. it had the same code issue. turned out to be the filler tube. i started by replacing the cannister purge valve. i am told that the cannister itself may develop cracks and leak. good luck
