top speed
what steps are neccesary to allow my eclipse to break the 110 shut off?
other than high performance tires are there any other mods needed to be done, and do i need a new computer or can i have mine reprogrammed?

The 420a motors do not have a speed limiter. Your car doesn't have enough power to go over that speed.

OUCH! I'd sell it and buy a GSX or GSX. They also do not have speed limiters on them; and they can do faster then 110mph.

I have a 95 GSX and I've done just about 160. On a closed course by a professional of course... Haven't hit a limiter yet...

so the reason my car wont build rpms after it hits 105-110 range is? i would except the power explanation if i was redlining but im around 38-4k rpms at this time

A 2.5" exhaust will help you get there. I don't remember if you've said you have an exhaust on there. Anything bigger will hurt performance. Fuel is fine.

If you are running traps faster than 110 then you already know how, otherwise you have no business going that fast.

I don't see brakes in your mod list, and notice you drive an N/A car...why bother? You can barely get there, then you have no means of reliably stopping. Bad idea.

To the OP, your car must be an automatic???
I had my stock 141 hp spyder rolling 125. But now it will roll 140 quite quickly, then it runs out of gear. But about the top speed limiter: GST is I believe 132 or so like previously stated, but GSX doesnt have a limiter, neither does the 2.4L Spyder.

ok the exhaust post, airflow is not an option. custom ram air intake with 4:1 aftermarket header, no cat and straight through 2.5 muffler(glass pack) so im sure airflow is not restricting anything.
like i said, i know there are safety measurements that i must update before attempting high speeds. ie braking, wheels..... im just lost as to why it wont build rpms.... is it computer related or power? if i need a new chip id rather get that first and then add the bolt ons. i dont want to waste my money on something thats being resticted. and i cant believe you guys are so critical of me wanting to go faster.... i thought thats what all car/speed enthusiasts wanted.... point taken that most of them dont do so with a gs model but ive got too much time/money into it already to just sell it and buy a gsx, not to mention those are hard to find in the area. it is n/a for now.... im analyzing my options for a complete rebuild next winter and i cant decide if i want to go with nitrous or turbo, but i do want an idea so i'll know what compression ratio ill need to buy parts for. thats why im posting this, to get an idea of what i can get out of 420a and your assumption is right, it is an automatic. ive had it since 03 and never intended on it becoming this big of a project or i woulda started with a different model

The auto is your problem. Yes are all like cars but going that fast on the highway is not only dangerous to you but to other as well and thats why we are so critical. To be honest the 420a motor is a POS unless its boosted. Believe me I have been there, the ECU is not the problem. Sure you could pull some more power out of it with more timing and maybe leaner a/f ratio but it wont be significant power.
If you want more power you either need to turbo it or plan on spending a shit ton of money on it and maybe be get to 160-170whp
