Hanging hose under gas tank????
Hello everyone,
I have a Regal LS with 192K. I happened to be snooping under the car and found this hanging hose on top of the gas tank. I have no idea where it connects or it's purpose.. ![]() Since purchasing the car, it had the CEL with the code, P0440: EVAP Emission Control Systeml Malfunction I've changed all visible vacuum lines and bought a new gas cap, but to no avail. Could this hose cause my CEL? |

Re: Hanging hose under gas tank????
Can you give us a few more details about the location? Which side of the is this located on? Have you checked the charcoal canister to see if everything is connected and that the solenoid and canister are properly connected?

on top of the gas tank. I can't see where the hose is exactly coming from, cuz it's on top of the tank. There's two fuel lines with the yellow tag, "Caution Fuel Flammable" along with the unplugged hose. I pulled on the hose to see if there was any slack and no slack. I'm thinking the hose connected somewhere on top of the gas tank. I checked charcoal canister and all the lines are still plugged in. Visually, all the lines to the canister look fine. Re: Hanging hose under gas tank????
if this hose is connected to the tank then it's the one that goes to the charcoal canister. you may want to double check where the hoses connected to the canister go.
as for your CEL this could be the cause of your problem. some cars have a solenoid that controls when the evap line is opened or closed that could be malfunctioning. however i'm not familiar with OBDII systems. the year of your car would also be helpful. |
