1990 6cyl Buick Century Muffler Help
Hi! I'm new here and hoping for a little help. I just noticed a pretty good siz hole forming in the muffler and since the car is 20yo, I figure it needs to be replaced. Bought it used, only 160,000 miles on it so it's a keeper. Is replacing it something I can do myself? Don't know a lot about cars, but I do know tools and how to use them. Can someone help me out? Thanks

Re: 1990 6cyl Buick Century Muffler Help
If the rest of the exhaust system looks good you should be able to replace the muffler easily. Depending on how rusty things are, you may need a torch or a hack saw to assist.
I live in Michigan and our cars get extremely rusty from the salt in the winter so I just let Lentz take car of that aspect of my cars maintenance. |

It depends if its welded on or bolted on eitherway measure the inside and outside diameter of the exhaust pipe once the muffler is off and replace it with a corresponding muffler. (most likely its a 2")
