I have a 2001 impala. Every once in a while i will go to leave and the car wont start. you put the key in and nothing and not sound no light in the info center. it does it every couple of days and it lasts for about 10 to 20 minutes then it will start and no problems for couple of days then the process starts again

Re: Help me please!!!!!!

I'd start with the battery connections. On some cars they install a lead spacer in between two cables and over time the spacer gets hot and will actually shrink causing a bad connection. The bolt seems tight but it is bottomed out in the battery lug. pull the cables, clean them good and add a washer or somthing that will allow the cables to make a good solid connection. It seems so basic, but it could be the culprit.

Re: Help me please!!!!!!

good luck i also have a 2001 impala doing the same thing. it started out like what yours is doing last year. my tech put in two new switches 300.00 no change so they thought it might be the BCM cost me 600.00 and that also did not solve the problem and now it is getting worst. it does it now every time i drive it two or three times. after reading some of these post's i think it is my passlock. so this weekend i am going to find someone to by pass it by putting in a resistor in it and hope that will solve my problem. so good luck i will post and let you know how i came out. read some of these post and you will see that you are not the only one with this problem
