Some VAN-tastic Toon Fun...

Dial up the "Way-Back Machine" Mr Peabody for it's time to mix a lil Saleen Racecar paint fun with the van craze days for the 70's.

Don't think I can really explain all of this...

Started with this doodle....

Very cool! Reminds me of that old CARtoons magazine... whatever happened to that magazine anyway?

Re: Some VAN-tastic Toon Fun...

Thanks.

CG81--Yup, it was influenced by some of the ol CAR-toon magazine drawings (from the Van crazy 70's) and the
work of the late Dave "Big" Deal.
The magazine produced it's last issue in the early 90's. Wish somebody would bring it back.

Re: Some VAN-tastic Toon Fun...

I haven't been on the boards in a couple months. I'm gettin married! Have to plan...

Anyway, I just had to comment this! I love the work of Blip and lemorris and girlbear and rpterpstra to name my favorite illustrators here.

Blip, as always your work is bangin'. I love the color scheme. It's about my favorite of all the new stuff I've seen tonight. I saw the rough one and thought, "A-Team van," but you made it look cooler than that even! A+

I drew a spy van called the VanisH. Maybe I'll upload mine. I can't afford Illy or photoshop but I'm itching for it. I want it! I want it!

Re: Some VAN-tastic Toon Fun...

Thanks, this was one of those doodles that flowed so easy from pencil to finished vector.

Glad to see you both back on the board and congrats to M.C.
