Finally took the car to the track.

So I finally took the car to the track. The car really shouldnt even be on the track since its not anywhere near setup for a decent pass. But anyways, had the day off wednesday so figured what the hell. I put this vid together quickly. Its showing me making a few passes solo, and a few passes against my buddy's gto. He was running 8's all night and I think in the last pass he went a 8.30.

So my car didnt do too well. I think the best I got was a 9.7. But I was trapping kinda high IMO. Trap speed was 79-80 ish. Massive traction problems, so I ended up pussy footing heavily. The people at the booth kinda mixed up the slips. My buddy with the GTO swears I ran a 9.3 but I dont think so. I know the car has atleast a low 9 in it but I'm sure I didnt do it, that night.

Heres the specs on the car.

-Stock SOHC motor
-14b at 9psi
-3/4 tank of gas
-some grandma Michelin all season tires
-3 degrees negetive camber in the front
-Stupid rich. Pegging out the wideband by the end of the track.

If I ever get to where I care what this car runs, I will makes some adjustments and learn to drive better, lol. But I'm probably just going to leave this the slow street car and continue to build the GST for drag.

Let me know what you think.

Nice video man. I wish it was a 1/4 mile track though.

Re: Finally took the car to the track.

Oh well. Its all we have around here. Except for fayetteville, gotta 1/4 up there. We hit that up sometimes, but not with this car.

Re: Finally took the car to the track.

My best 1/8 mile was 9.2 @ 83.5mph with the 16g on 18psi. That 1/4 was 13.81@107

With the 20g on 23psi I was trapping 86.3mph in the 1/8 and 111.8mph in the 1/4

20g on 14psi trapped 78.5mph in the 1/8 and 104.5mph in the 1/4.

I would say you in the 105mph range in the 1/4. Which is very impressive for a stock block.
