It sounds to me that if you got a 02 sensor code, and it has issues when it warms up, there is your problem. When the sensor is not working correctly, the system will work as if the car is warming up, using a richer mixture of fuel. The sensor is located on the exhaust system, there are 2. The upstream sensor is located before the catalytic converter. The downstream sensor is found after the converter, meaning further down the exhaust system towards the rear of car. When you had the car scanned, it will tell you which it is. For example, I had the same issue and the scan indicated low voltage in bank one of two. Remember the sensor produces no voltage when it is below normal operating temperature, so you might have fuel economy issues etc. To remove the sensors, warm the car up for a few minutes, 2 or 3. It will be easier to take them out. When you replace them, use an anti seize lube. A slotted socket is recommended so the wire harness fits into the slot during removal, disconnect the plug 1st. But, I think I used a wrench.
