Radio Removal 2003 Explorer
I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to give me the steps in removing the factory radio from a 2003 Explorer with the single cd/tape player am/fm unit. I am replacing it tomorrow with a Pioneer cd player with the bluetooth and navigation. I have already bought a wiring harness and dash kit. Thanks for any help.

Re: Radio Removal 2003 Explorer
There are 4 little holes in the radio. You need to insert a tool in these holes to release the clips that hold the radio in place. You can fabricate something or go to local parts house and purchase the tool.

There are no holes that I see, do i need to remove the bezel around the radio first to see them.

Re: Radio Removal 2003 Explorer
Sorry. I should have looked before I spoke. Here is a picture of how to remove it. The bezel pulls out and then there are 2 bolts that hold the radio in place. Remove by number.
