Re: 99 sonoma 4x4 front hubs
Does the noise change when you turn the wheels a little right or left when going down the road?

Re: 99 sonoma 4x4 front hubs
I am not the original poster -- but yes, when going straight or turning left the noise is there, when i turn (or corner ) right, it goes away. It also is not present when in 4 wheel drive (low or high) does give trouble sometimes on getting out of four wheel drive.
History -- never ever had the noise until I fixed a vacuum leak t(under the hood -- found it unplugged??) all of a sudden the vents would change as needed (Defroster , heat ...) shortly (30 miles ) the "growl" appeared -- disconnected and the noise got MUCH better , but still there EXCEPT when I turn right?

Does noise increase with car MPH? The wheel bearing test is when going staright down road see if noise changes when you turn the steering wheel a little to right or left.
