98 Sonoma Hard To Start

My 1998 GMC Sonoma with a 2.2 engine is hard to start sometime. It sounds like it just can't quiet catch on to start. Other times when you crank it the engine rpms go up to about 2 thousand before coming back to normal. After getting started it runs fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: 98 Sonoma Hard To Start

Now that I think about it a few years back I had some sort of fuel regulator switch or module replaced. It was dumping to much gas to the engine. Does anyone know where this switch is located and does it sound like that could be my problem again? That is maybe what is happening again to much gas.

Thanks
