Texas mile numbers...

Just got the word from a bud that went down this year. The Supra that ran 241 (I believe that was the number) just went 246 but threw a rod in the process. A ZR1 did 178. A twin turbo'd Ford GT went for 217. Waiting to get more numbers now, some turbo'd bikes were running into the 240s, but the Streetking Boost Logic Supra that went 241 last year still holds the street car record as far as we know with a 246.

For those who don't know, the Texas Mile is a top speed run. Cars have one mile to go from a standing start to their top speed. So, to give you some perspective, this car went from 0-246 in a mile. If you watch the video for the slower 241 run, it went from the standstill to 241 in ~30 seconds. If we assume for a second that the 246 run took the same amount of time (a poor assumption though), it did 0-248 twenty seconds faster than the Veyron.

Dude, What the hell are you smoking?

I'm assuming you're talking about the ZR1's run... they just started making the ZR1 this year.

The last ZR1 was made from 1989 - 1995 with the LT5 motor with a measly 385hp and later bumped to 405hp in 1992 when the regular Corvette was given the LT1 motor with 330hp.

And the first ZR1 was made in 1970 with the original LT-1 motor making a mere 370hp.

Re: Texas mile numbers...

Hmm.. I apologize... I TOTALLY misread your post. My bad homie.

I thought you were referring to the ZR1 being produced into the 2000's... lol I was like.. what?! NO!... It didn't dawn on me that you were talking about cars reach the 200mph mark. (duh)

That's what I get for just skimming the thread in a hurry to get out the door... I stand corrected.

We are working on vid's right now. Seirously fast cars indeed, and these are all the street class cars. They have some built racers out there go even faster. I wish that the Supra didn't pop its motor, because tail winds+better weather was pushing some better times on saturday. That aformentioned GTTT that went 217 was able to make it 223 on the second day.

I was planning on going, but the girl wasn't feeling good, and I got an invite to check out the race shop at a BMW dealership in the area. This dealership itself was insane, blew my old one outa the water. The race shop was amazing, seeing the cars set up the way they were.

Re: Texas mile numbers...

Videos coming soon. So far we have a cruddy vid of a stock Ford GT, and the Supra's 246 run. Looks like it was about 3-35 seconds from start to 'chute.

Re: Texas mile numbers...

SW's 246mph Supra. Looks to be just a few ticks over 30 seconds from launch to chute.

Local DFW Ford GT, Tune and Pulley Swap for a 190mph run.
