97 villager - engine problems???
Has about 230k miles on it, usually runs and drives fine, once you first start it, it doesn't want to idle that well but clears up quick when you give it gas but not the problem... Yesterday, started it up and ran like garbage, like it was down 3 cylinders or something, would barely climb hills, and would barely take off, brung it back to the garage and parked it overnight, came back this morning and ran fine and has since... any ideas what caused it???

Re: 97 villager - engine problems???
Is check engine light on?
Have you checked for any codes? When was last tune up, cap, rotor, spark plugs, wires? Have you changed the fuel filter??? Has timing belt ever been changed??? Check to make sure the screw for rotor is on tight. Check IAC and clean throttle body. Check to make sure optical sensor in distributor is clean of dust. Does the ditributor have any bearing play??? |
