It's ALIVE.....

Since the car was on ramps in the front the incline caused the fuel guage
to show almost half a tank while at the same time the fuel supply line was uncovered in the tank. I poured in two gallons of mower fuel and she started right up!

I checked the timing at 5 degree BTDC and went for a short drive. Adjusted the timing to 8 BTDC and went for a 15 minute drive. Had much more power. It seems to run perfect so far.

When I got back I lifted the hood to check for problems leaks etc. and discovered I had left the diagnostic port jumper wire in place. I had to go to work and so did not have time to drive it again. Might this have caused any problems?

Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions. I will help any others if I can
but I am definitely a novice compared to many here.

I will post a few pictures in my next message this weekend.

Regards

Re: It's ALIVE.....

That's good news!! Doesn't it feel great to figure it out without having to take your car to a mechanic?

Keep us update on how she does.

Re: It's ALIVE.....

Don't drive it hard for the first 100 miles.

Change the Oil after 500 miles.

Enjoy.
