please read anything is a help

I have a 2000 f250 gas 5.4. The overdrive light flashes and the truck has no power it doesn't miss but it feels like it is starved for gas. Sometimes when it rains the light does not flash and the truck works great lots of power not starved for fuel at all. The code thats flashing is a sensor in the transmission but before i get that replaced and the problem not be fixed i was wondering if anyone has had a wiring problem or something like this or if i should just get the sensor replaced and chance it
