Whats a Starter look like.
Hey. I'm an outta shape mechanic.
got an 83 camaro 305. dead in a parking lot. bought a soliniod, but don't know where to put it. Thanks |

The solenoid is integrated on the starter motor itself. To gain access, you need to remove the protective shield between the engine and transmission and it will be on the right side of the motor conveniently located above the exhaust.

Don't forget to disconnect the battery and remove the wires from the starter.

Felt like an idiot after that first post. so I just figured I'd look underneath. and the part I had bought looked just like that thing sittin atop the starter. figured I'd start there. thanks for the help. Peace |

Don't worry about it (personally I think the first post to be a bit rash), and yes, as I said, the solenoid is integrated with the starter motor, so, you are correct.
