Toyota Intelligent Tester

I am having troubles finding a source for the Toyota Intelligent Tester P/N 09082-00040 (for reading DTC codes ). Does anyone have a source? Would an after-market tester have the same capabilities? If so, which brand would you recommend. TIA!

Re: Toyota Intelligent Tester

I believe the tester you mentioned is very expensive. There are many reasonably priced testers that will read codes. The Toyota tester will do things that you can't find in other testers, but you will use these capabilities very seldom, if at all.

I suggest you look at a scanner that reads OBDII codes as well as CAN codes. Being able to obtain freeze-frame data is also useful.
