2003 ram 1500 a/c problem

I have a 2003 Ram 1500 w/ a/c problems it does not seem to cool when I am idling or in netraul, not moving. but it does cool when I am traveling at speed down the road. Any ideas what is wrong? Before I go to the dealer and get ripped off! Thanks,

Open your hood and see if the AC fan comes on when you turn on the AC. It is electric and should run whenever your air is on.

your ac condenser fan is shot. this unit comes complete motor fan & mounting bracket. mine went last summer. the new unit is some what better more durable. i had to buy a wiring harness adapter $15.00 .works great now.

i replaced the ac fan and now when it turns on the truck idles down or turns off completely. what can be the cause?

gman, did you replace the fan assy? If so, where did you get the replacement?

kappy 47 here in answer to ac question, i bought the fan assembly from my dodge dealer.it cost me $210.00 dollars + tax of course + 15.00 dollars for the wiring harness adapter. hope this helps you.
