Question 94 LX electrical problem

Problem started with low mileage and poor performance. Tuned it up new plugs wires, every thing, and no improvement. Took it to the garage, found an injector was staying open, replaced computer all was good. Then in a heavy rain (just days latter) it died and would not start. The problem was then no fuel, back to the garage. New fuel pump installed (mechanics idea not mine). All was fine again, till the next heavy rain (two weeks later), that’s right, no fuel again and battery died (it was old any way). Replaced battery and decided to park it till spring and got a 96 LX to drive. Now must sale 94 but, (new) battery dead. Tried to charge it with a 10 amp charger, charger keeps resetting to much current draw. With the fuel problem it seem to me that the fuel pump relay may be getting wet and now has corroded and stuck closed. I don’t know where the fuel pump relay is is? I was told by a Ford mechanic that it may have a thing call a “CCRU” I believe he said, dose anybody know witch it has and where either is located or any other ideas of what the problem may be?

Ford used to install a fuel pump relay on or close to the trunk hinge they were green appx. 1" 1' 2" size. Look for a trunk leak in this area.

Re: 94 LX electrical problem

In the "94 thunderbird radiator fan/ temp gauge problem" thread it sounds like the fuel pump relay is located in the CCRM (Constant Control Relay Module). This is what your mechanic told you about. It is located between the radiator support and the air filter box. It has a 24 pin connector going to it. Pull out the fuel pump fuse and try to charge your battery. If you can now get the battery charged, wait until it is fully charged and then insert the fuse. If the fuel pump runs when you insert the fuse and the key is off then the relay is probably faulty. The problem is you have to buy the whole module, not just one relay $$$$! I haven't heard of anyone having luck taking the module apart and fixing the relays inside. If anyone has, please let me know.
