'94 Astro 4L60E Trans swap with '96 Caprice 4L60e

Is it possible to swap a '94 Astro 4L60E transmission with a '96 Caprice 4L60E transmission? Are the mounting details the same? Thanks for your help in advance.

The mountings are the same unless the Astro is an AWD. The concern is in the valve bodies, and whether the replacement has the newer style TCC boost solenoid. The 3-2 downshift solenoids may also be different between '94 and '96 models. You can verify whether they are the same by comparing resistances. The VSS may also be different, but can be exchanged.

Mechanically, the trans should be fine. The B-car trans should have at least five clutches in the 3-4 stack.

Thanks Bluebowtie. I am trying to put as little $$ in this Astro as possible. I can get the donor transmission for $ 250.00 (91k). I appreciate the help.
