83 blazer, military style need hub help

I bought a 83 blazer with the diesel motor, great truck. The wheel bearings were shot and when I removed the hub, the 2 races were practically welded to the spindel. I cut them off and tried to file it down so I could replace both bearings. I also think some of the parts in the hub were damaged. In the chilton manual it shows a large spring and mine is gone. Where should I look for parts and cna I leave the hub guts out and just not use the 4 wheele drive? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can usually buy the auto or manuel complete hub assemblys from auto parts stores for around 100.00. Dealers will still carry the parts individually though.
