Lubing Caliper Sliders 1999 Windstar
Can one remove the sliders and lube them without disconnecting the caliper? Do all I have to do is remove the tires and go at it?

I'm not sure exactly what your question is ... but I can say lubing the moving front brake parts, and the slides is pretty straight forward.
One small tip: Be sure you locate the small hairclips and remove them before trying to pull the small diameter pad retainer pins. |

Re: Lubing Caliper Sliders 1999 Windstar
This is a link to a picture of my front disk brake assembly....first in a series of photos.

It looks to me like the way to get to lube would be to remove the caliper.....you want a small amount of the high temp lube in the right place....but NONE onto any friction surface.

Don't disconnect the brake hose just suspend the caliper with a coat hanger.
Use a c clamp to push the piston in so you can reinstall it easily. |
