fuel pump clicking

I just acquired an '85 Prelude(1.8L dual carb). The fuel pump seems to be making a clicking noise about every three seconds at idle and speeds up as the revs increase. Is this normal? Or is this a sign of the fuel pump failing or something else terribly wrong?

This is my first Honda so I have no idea if this is normal. Thanks for any help you can give.

If i'm not mistaking it's when you don't hear the clicking is when you have a problem:sun:

Thanks for the response. I was thinking something might be wrong because the clicking is quite loud and you can hear it when you are walking up to the car.

If anyone else had some thoughts on this I'd be greatly appreciative.
