COMPLETE: Customer's Buick Roadmaster Estate LT1

My final B-Body wagon project for a while (really getting burnt out on these)... These two were fun though. You saw the red Caprice in a previous thread, but these are both for the same customer so I'll put em together.

The Caprice is curbside, with wheels and chassis from the Revell Impala SS. transkit is by modelhaus. Paint is GM Flame Red Metallic, with burgandy interior. Windows tinted with real window tint. Front air dam was fabricated with thin styrene sheet and lots of sanding. Foglights are headlights from a Revell BMW 325i.

The Buick has a fully detailed engine bay. It uses the modelhaus transkit as well, but I cut the front of the car off at the A-pillars and grafted on the front end of a Revell Impala SS (since his Buick has an aftermarket "smoothie" bumper that looks like the Chevy anyway) to provide an opening hood.

The engine is from an AMT Corvette kit, so you can see the full LT1 intake, fuel rail and throttle body, rather than the half-detailed version under the engine cover in the Impala SS kit.

The exterior was shaved and smoothed, and shot with GM Medium Adriatic Blue, with dark blue interior. Chassis and wheels are from the Impala SS kit as well. Windows tinted with real window tint. Front air dam was fabricated with thin styrene sheet and lots of sanding. Foglights are headlights from a Revell BMW 325i. Grille is strip styrene.

I like it. The paint came out nice and smooth. For the white in the engine bay (Fluid Container) try maybe using primer first then paint with a brush on dark colors like black.
