'08 Express Cargo Stereo/Chimes Help!!

So heres the story. I purchased an 08 Express 8cyl (2500 I think) around thanksgiving. I had the dealer install remote/power locks. They had a reputable (or so I thought) aftermarket company install them. This is a company that has been doing business in my area for years, most of the dealers use them for all their accessories, so they have a good reputation in my metro area. About a week ago the locks quit working, and I took it in to the place that installed them. (I'll say DAS from here on - for Dealer Automotive Service). When they quit working, I checked the fuse box, and since the radio went out when the locks did, I replaced the 15amp fuse with a 20amp fuse in the Radio/Chimes slot in the panel. New fuse in, locks are working, radio flashes on then goes off. I smell that slight burning smell when something might be shorting, so I pull the fuse back out.

I take it to DAS and they don't know what the problem is, but now pull the power off of something they called the 'hot power peg' on the firewall or something. Anyway, they change the power source from the radio circuit to who knows what, and the locks work when I leave the place. I get home, and they don't work. AND my radio still isn't working. By not working I mean no display on the radio face, and no sound. at night when the lights are on, the buttons on the radio are lit with the rest of the dashboard.

How can I tell if the lock system fried my radio, and when I have the 15amp fuse back in the radio/chimes slot, with no locks being powered by this circuit anymore shouldn't the chimes at least work??

The dealership wants me to go to a local electronics store and have an aftermarket radio put in, but I'm afraid that something will get all jacked up as this circuit is probably toast.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
