Hello,
I have a 1996 Honda Accord EX Coupe and the drivers side electric seat will not move forward or backward. The seat "tilt" still works fine, so it will move up and down. Additionally, when you go to move the seat forward/backward it moves just a little bit. I have a feeling that a coin is stuck down in the track which is causing it to jam. Can anyone tell me the best method of either taking the seat apart and/or clearing the seat track? I went to the Honda dealership of Seattle and without even looking at the car they told me that I would have to put a new seat in (which will run $800 with labor), which I know I don't need. Thanks for your help. |

Re: Electric Seat Problems - 1996 Honda Accord
There is 4 bolts holding the seat to the floor. Take the caps off the end of the rails to see the bolts and remove the seat. Don't forget the electrical connectors, the seats are heave so be careful.

Re: Electric Seat Problems - 1996 Honda Accord
The seat is all the way back so two of the four bolts you mentioned are covered by the rails. Is there a way to remove the electric seat motor which I believe is right up-front so the seat will slide forward?
Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it. |
