ok so i own a 1994 Grand Prix SE 3100. About 2 weeks after i bought it the fuel pump started getting a howling noise when i came to a stop or braked hard. it only really did this when i had less than a half tank so i kept it full when possible. Recently since it has gotten cold here (20 degrees F) it just howls all the time. i bought the car from a couple that had it sitting out back there house for about 2 years without being run since it needed some parts but they didnt have money to fix it. Its been loud for over 5k miles and is still working. is there a reason it would be howling or is it just letting me know that it is going to quit working soon? Thanks, Mike

Re: REALLY loud fuel pump
Wow this is an old post. All GM cars Ive seen have loud fuel pumps. On both my cars 05 Monte and 98 GTP the fuel pump is just as loud as the exuast note while standing next to the car.
