`67 Corvette 427 1/12. Yet ANOTHER ONE!

Ok, ok, so this must be getting boring for you guys. Yes, I am aware there are other kits out there, and I will eventually build a different one, i promise.
This is actually for a customer who has a full scale one of these. This is once again built from the Monogram kit. By the way, if anyone has one of these kits, I may be interested in buying it.
Anyway, I am guessing there is a total of about 10 coats of clear on this, as I really wanted to prevent "rubbing through" the paint, as black is a pain (make that PAIN!!!!) to rub out. The last thing I wanted to do was to have to repaint and start over with the buffing process. I actually masked and painted the stringer stripes on, as there are no red stinger decals available that I could find. This also was very difficult to get perfectly straight and to have the portion on the hood line up with the portion on the body. It was also difficult to cut the masks. The outer stripes are less than 1/10 of a centimeter, so laying down the masking tape on the cutting board perfectly straight was a chore, even with a metal ruler. I would cut a stripe that looked really good, but when I would lay it down on the car, it would vary between approx1/15 and 1/10 of a centimeter and would be really noticeable!
Overall, I really like the color combination. I`m not sure why I never thought of trying it.
Anyway, here are some pics:

Re: `67 Corvette 427 1/12. Yet ANOTHER ONE!

Just a quick update. Finished the chassis and the interior. This one is pretty much just like the red one, with chalk markings, wound wire springs with labels, etc....
The interior has a simulated wood (as best I could do with a paintbrush) steering wheel and scratch built seat belt buckles.
Let me know what you think!
Ohh, and BTW, the client who is getting this may be watching

Wow, besides that beautiful paintjob, the chassis is just as nice in it's own way. Very clean and well done, especially the rear suspension. But what really gets me is that smooth black body.
