2001 Rodeo 6cyl - Timing Belt or chain??
Hello all,
My girlfriend is look at buying a used 01 Rodeo LSE. 94K on the engine and trans. I talked to the guy selling and in response to the obligatory "timing belt maint." questions he said "this has a chain, so you don't change anything". ![]() Now I had a 98 Rodeo LSE and I know it had a belt...same engine as far as I know. Anyone know if they started putting chains in these things in 2001? Thanks for the help. |

The isuzu 3.2 and 3.2L 1998-2004 all have timeing belts not chains.

Re: 2001 Rodeo 6cyl - Timing Belt or chain??
'01 also has ion sensing ignition system which uses the spark plugs as sensors so needs certain ones. Also has drive by wire throttle so no throttle cables. Both of which your '98 didnt have. Just thought I'd point that out.
