STI vid's as promised...

Pictures and vids of my buddy's 2008 STI. We took a bunch of pictures, but I only saved a few of them, most of them didn't turn out to well. I didn't have a tripod, so getting non shakey, stable pictures out of a basic entry level digi cam is a bit difficult.

Modifications are a Invidia v3 Catless downpipe, P&L catback, TiAl 38mm external wastegate and up pipe, and Labonte Meth Injection kit. Street tuned locally.

Two videos are the same, taken from two different cameras. Two revving, two of a 60-130 pull, one of him just driving normally.

To get an honest idea of how loud it is, you really, really need your speakers up at full volume. I'm not exagerating or kidding at all. In the back seat, you honestly cannot hear anything. Front seat is just as bad at WOT. We raced a 4.6L V8 mustang with headers and straight pipes, and we were louder than he was.

The P&L is supposedly the loudest you can get for the car without running an open downpipe. It is seriously mean sounding. My mom didn't see the car, just heard it idling in my driveway, and thought it was a Trans Am or Camaro. Real deep and rumbly, very authoritative. You won't confuse it for a fart canned Honda, thats for sure.

Next on the list is a front mount and more boost/meth/tuning. Rumor has it the motor is good for 400 at the wheels, but we are thinking to tune for not a whole lot more than 350 to keep it managable and daily drivable. Also gonna get some springs to mix up with the sways/ties.

Do they use cast pistons in the Subaru's or forged?

When he was stock and I was running right with intake and dp back exhaust, I put about a length or two on him from a sixty punch to 120...

Now we are estimating 325awhp and 380ftlbs torque, so no, lol. Working on more videos right now.

agreed, i like the old style much better, four-door saloon. I not a big fan of cars like this, can't tell if it's a mini-van or a car. Kinda like the 2003-2005? civic si. My car is pretty low, when i pulled up to one recently, i literally thought it was a mini-van.

Mini van? It looks like a hatch back, because, ya know, it is a hatch back. Hell, it has the same profile as the Speed3...

Re: STI vid's as promised...

You need to see one of these rip it up at an AutoX. DAMN they look awesome... The one I saw was white with the Vibrant catback, sounded very similar to this but not as loud. They look incredible in person, even more agressive than the Speed3 profile I think, as the wheelbase is wider, or looks wider anyways.

They look MUCH better in person

The full profile is more agressive, and they do look better in person. Yeah, we tried to turn a drift track into an AutoX set up, and my buddy did pretty good once a good friend and I got in there and started giving him advice. He kept wanting to lift off.

Re: STI vid's as promised...

Just put it to the floor, thats all you have to do

By the way, did anyone else notice the mini-parking spots in the first picture? WTF is up with those?

Are there very many of these things around the D/FW area?

maybe not a mini van but the back looks EXACTLY like the back end of a lexus RX SUV and the front just doesn't really do it for me.

as long as the performance is there i can get over the looks. i haven't like the looks of any impreza since like 1995.

You mean the parking spots that look small because they are further away from the camera, or 2008 STIs? If you mean the former, then thats an optical effect. If you mean the later, then no, I've only seen three.

Re: STI vid's as promised...

I meant STis. We only have one in B-town. But I like the 04-05 STi, but they have gotten uglier since then.
